Mittelalterliche Festungen in Rumänien

Route: Sighişoara – Castelul Bran – Cetatea Râşnov – Braşov – Sighişoara

Unsere Reise führt uns von Sighişoara aus zum Bran Schloss, eine der meist besuchten Burgen Rumäniens. Es war der Lieblingsplatz von Königin Maria, welche die Grenzen der Festung restaurieren und verändern ließ, sodass sie als Residenz für die Königsfamilie genutzt werden konnte.

Unsere Tour geht weiter in der Festung von Râşnov. Der deutsche Name, Rosenau, Rose Valley, gibt einen Hinweis auf die Herkunft der ersten deutschen Siedler. Desweiteren wird seit dem Mittelalter die Rose als das Wahrzeichen der Gegend verwendet.

Auf unserem Weg im Land von Bârsa geht es weiter nach Braşov. Hier gab es im Mittelalter eine sehr große Handwerker-Gemeinschaft und dort war auch eines der wichtigsten Wirtschafts- und Handelszentren in ganz Siebenbürgen. Hier werden wir einen Spaziergang unternehmen, wir sehen die schmalste Straße Rumäniens (die Sforii Straße), die schwarze Kirche, den Hauptplatz, das alte Rathaus (Casa Sfatului) und die Republicii Straße – ein tolles Beispiel für die Gutmütigkeit und Großzügigkeit der Handwerker und Händler von Braşov. Unsere Tour endet in Sighişoara.

The Romanian Royal Summer Residence tour

Meeting point: in the lobby of your hotel / pension

Route: Sighişoara – Castelul Peleş – Sinaia Monastery– Sighişoara

Itinerary:

Our tour leads us to one of the castels built as a summer royal residence in Romania, the Peleş Castle. Its name is coming from the crystal clear water, which flows in the proximity of the castle. We continue our tour visiting the Sinaia Monastery, wich is associated to the urban development of the place. In the late afternoon we will drive back to Sighişoara.

Tour duration: 10-11 hours

Mediaş & Surroundings tour

Route: Sighişoara, Mediaş, Moşna, Alma Vii, Sighişoara

Itinerary:

We leave Sighişoara and drive towards  Mediaş. We will visit the Evangelic Church “St. Margaret” or the “Castle” represented the core around which the citadel gradually developed. We continue are tour in the region in which surrounding are numerous orchards and vineyards. In our schedule is included a visit to the fortified church of Moşna. Due to the settlement’s prosperity, Moşna has one of the most beautiful and biggest churches in the Târnava Valley. Our route is heading towards Alma Vii. We visit the 14th century church, built two hundred years prior to the stronghold around it. We end our tour turning back to Sighişoara.

Sibiu & Surroundings tour

Route: Sighişoara – Sibiu – Sighişoara

Itinerary:

We leave Sighişoara and drive to Sibiu, the politically head quarter of the German Nation in Transylvania, today the capital of county Sibiu. The city together with Luxembourg shared the title European Capital of Culture in year 2007. After a two hour drive, we take a walking tour in the Old Town of Sibiu, which includes the three Squares of the town (The Large- and the Small- and the Huet-Square), the Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Council Tower, the Liars’ Bridge and the Cibin Market. The lunch (optional) is succeded  by the departure to Astra Open Air Museum. We will end up our tour turning back to Sighişoara.
